Sandy Twp. House Explosion Remains Under Investigation

SANDY TOWNSHIP – An explosion caused a house to go up in flames yesterday afternoon at 1676 Caribbean Rd. in Treasure Lake, Sandy Township, reported the state police at DuBois.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Sandy Township police and fire departments investigated the cause of the house explosion. The house was destroyed as a result, state police said.

Damage is estimated at $250,000. The house belonged to Michael M. Myers and Deborah Priddy of DuBois. Both were at home at the time of the fire and transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center with minor injuries, state police said.

The cause of the explosion and the subsequent house fire remains under investigation at this time.
