Woman Injured in Snyder Twp. Accident

SNYDER TOWNSHIP – A 19-year-old Brockway woman, Brittany N. Hindman, sustained major injuries after being involved in a single-vehicle accident Saturday on Route 28 in Snyder Township, reported the state police at DuBois.

Hindman was traveling north in the right-hand lane 300 feet from Weisner Drive. While rounding a left-hand curve, she lost control of her vehicle on the wet roadway. Her vehicle spun in a clockwise motion and traveled 50 feet along the east berm of SR 28.

The driver’s side of the Hindman vehicle struck a utility pole that was eight feet east of the roadway. The Hindman vehicle came to a rest against the pole, facing east. Hindman was entrapped and had to be extricated from the vehicle by fire personnel, state police said.

Hindman was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident, state police said. Hindman was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center – West for treatment.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Brockway Borough Fire Department and Brockway Emergency Medical Services.
