ALTOONA – Percussionist, musician and composer Ronnie Burrage will speak Jan. 21 at 4 p.m. in the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts.
Burrage is considered one of the best jazz musicians on the world scene today. He has played with Wayne Shorter, Sonny Rollins, Pat Metheny, Jaco Pastorius and Archie Shepp, among others, and is featured on more than 100 recordings. His latest productions, Spirit Guides / Truth and Love Music and Blue Noise , may be some of his greatest works.
Burrage’s lecture, The Influence of Jazz and Hip Hop on American Culture, is free and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the Division of Arts & Humanities.
