Penn State Altoona to present Five Women Wearing the Same Dress

ALTOONA – Five Women Wearing the Same Dress will run Feb. 6 – 8 in the Paul R. and Margery Wolf Kuhn Theatre of the Misciagna Family Center for Performing Arts. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinée Saturday. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 regular admission. Parental discretion is advised.

During an ostentatious wedding reception at a Knoxville, Tenn. estate, five reluctant, identically clad bridesmaids hide out in an upstairs bedroom, each with an excellent reason to avoid the proceedings below. At first glance, each seems a recognizable type – the rebel, the bad girl, the Jesus freak, the lesbian, the perfectionist.

But as the afternoon wears on, each will surprise you, the others, and even themselves, by becoming much more than meets the eye.  As their stories unspool and weave together, they discover common bonds, common enemies, and unique possibilities for living out loud.  And with a little help from a charming usher, one of these women might even find a new chance for romance.

Tickets may be purchased at the box office, open Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and before and during all performances. Further information may be obtained by calling 814-949-5452 or by visiting the Penn State Altoona Web site at www.altoona.psu.edu.
