Obituary Notice: Christopher Donald Jewell

Christopher Donald Jewell is no longer with us. He died at age 23 in his home on Monday Jan. 6, 2014.

He was a 2008 graduate of DuBois High School. He attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity.

He was employed as an electrician at Jewell Electric Inc.

He is survived by his loving brother and best friend, Clayton Jewell; his father, Don E. and his mother, Tammy J. Jewell of Treasure Lake; paternal grandfather, Don Jewell and his wife, JoAnn of Falls Creek; paternal grandmother, JoAnn Clontz of DuBois; maternal grandfather, Julius Springborn and his wife, Tess of North Carolina; and his maternal grandmother, Pearl Springborn of Brockway.  He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was an accomplished, self-taught musician entertaining friends and family on the guitar and piano.

Adored for his sharp wit and humor, he will be remembered as a loyal friend to many.  Friends from childhood remained friends until his death. To know him was to love him.

He enjoyed taking long motorcycle rides with his dad and brother. As an avid outdoorsman, he took advantage of many of the opportunities that Treasure Lake offered, such as a golfing, hunting, fishing and boating. Although proficient at all sports, he was an expert snowboarder and spent a lot of time with his friends and family at Holiday Valley Ski Resort.

He will be deeply missed by all.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
