Joylene A. Hockenberry, 80, of Osceola Mills, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Joanie and Dough Pfahl of Shippensburg.
She was the daughter of the late Anna (Hopkins) Loughead, born May 25, 1933 in (Beulah) Ramey. She married Chester Hockenberry on May 26, 1951 in Woodland. He survives at home.
Mrs. Hockenberry was a member of the Morningstar Fellowship Church in (Stumptown) Osceola Mills. She had worked for the former Sylvania in Houtzdale and General Cigar in Philipsburg. She was a 1951 graduate of the former Madera High School.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two infant children, a brother, Merle Brickmeyer and a grandson, Joseph Hockenberry.
Along with her husband, Mrs. Hockenberry is survived by two daughters, Joanie M. Pfahl and her husband, Doug of Shippensburg and Cathie I. Hazel and her husband, Tom of Woodland; two sons, Marvin W. Hockenberry of Philipsburg and Ronald C. Hockenberry and his wife, Eunice of State College; a sister, Linda Harnish and her husband, Dean of Ramey; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Heath Funeral Home in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Lee Cowfer officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.
