Repairs to Start for Route 322 Bridge near Boalsburg

Lane restriction will be in effect

STATE COLLEGE – Work to repair a bridge near Boalsburg on eastbound Route 322 will get under way today. The bridge spans Route 45 just east of where the four-lane section ends on Route 322.

Repairs will start and traffic will be moved onto the shoulder during daylight hours. Work restrictions will be lifted at night. PennDOT expects this repair work to last through January.

The repairs to the bridge are necessary due to damage caused by an oversize load traveling on Route 45 this past October. The hauler is responsible for the cost of repairs. All work is weather dependent.

The bridge was built in 1971, is 212 feet long and carries an average of 8,227 vehicles per day, with truck traffic making up almost 28 percent of that total.
