Connie L. Norris, 93, of Curwensville died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born Feb. 4, 1920 in Lumber City, she was the daughter of George Oliver Sr. and Ruth Marie (Wike) Riddle. Mrs. Norris had worked as a salesclerk for the former Claire Shop and also the former Buzzard’s Stationary Store in Curwensville.
She was a member of the Curwensville First Baptist Church. She was also an avid league bowler at the former Curwensville Lanes.
On May 31, 1940 in Curwensville, she wed George Franklin Norris, who preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, George Jr., James, Norman and Richard Riddle and a sister, Peggy Braman.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Thomas and Debra Wright and her husband, John, both of Curwensville; four grandchildren, James Thomas of Rockton, Cheri Thurstin of Curwensville, Mary Sellers of State College and Brad Bressler of Greensburg; eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; a sister and a brother, Kathryn “Kay” Husak and Harry Riddle and his wife, Elsie, both of Curwensville.
Funeral services for Mrs. Norris will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. Daniel Osterhout officiating. Burial will follow in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. until the time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
