HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP – The investigation is continuing into the theft of a Ford F-350 that was involved in an alcohol-related accident Wednesday in Highland Township, reported the state police at Ridgway.
At approximately 2:28 a.m., a known 21-year-old Kane man stole the truck from the Russell City Sportsmen’s Club and then fled northbound on state Route 66. However, he crashed the truck approximately three miles down the road, state police said.
Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the accident, state police said. The man was transported to the Kane Community Hospital for treatment of injuries and blood testing.
Charges are currently pending further investigation.
