Ohio Man Flown to Altoona after I-80 Accident

SANDY TOWNSHIP – A 36-year-old Columbia, Ohio man sustained severe injuries and was flown to Altoona after a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday on Interstate 80 westbound near mile-marker 100 in Sandy Township, reported the state police at DuBois.

The man was traveling on I-80 when he lost control of his vehicle. He subsequently struck the side of a pick-up truck operated by Roy Pettit, 36, of Buckhannon, WV.

After impact, the man’s vehicle exited the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned several times. The man was ejected from his vehicle, state police said.

The man’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Pettit wasn’t injured as a result of the accident.
