NWS: Snow Squalls to Affect Area

STATE COLLEGE – The National Weather Service in State College has advised that snow squalls will affect the area across the Laurel Highlands and south-central mountains through 3 p.m.

The snow squalls, the NWS stated, will impact Route 219, Route 22, Interstate 80 and Interstate 99. The snow will rapidly drop visibilities to one-half mile or less.

In addition, wind gusts between 30 and 40 miles per hour will contribute to low visibilities. Motorists should be prepared for rapidly changing conditions if traveling across this area.
