Mary H. Catalano, 89, of Clearfield died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 in Altoona.
She was born Aug. 20, 1924 in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Vincezo and Rose (Scordino) Parlavecchio.
Mrs. Catalano was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, and the former Martha Washington Lodge in Clearfield.
She is survived by five children, James Catalano and his wife, Joyce of West Decatur, Regina Modzel and her husband, Greg of Morrisdale, Mark Catalano and his wife Kristy, of Howard and Donald Catalano and his wife, Freida and Michael Catalano, both of Clearfield; 10 grandchildren, Lisa, Donald, Nancy, Tina, Toni, Heather, Daniel, Joseph, Medea and McKenzie; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo J. Catalano on Feb. 23, 1998 and whom she wed June 16, 1946. She was also preceded in death four brothers, Joe, Carmen, Tony and Domonic and a sister, Sarah.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee Jr. as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield.
At the funeral home on Friday, a Christian Vigil service will be held at 1:45 p.m. and the Rosary will be recited at 5:45 p.m.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
