Helen Rose Stricek, 84, of Curwensville died Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1929, she was the daughter of Frank and Hedvega (Kubista) Stricek. She was a graduate of the DuBois Business College and retired as a receptionist/secretary for the late Dr. John J. Arnold.
She was a member of the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are two brothers, two sisters and two sisters-in-law. John Stricek of Curwensville, Joseph Stricek and his wife, Virginia of Wyomissing, Elizabeth Bungo of Baden, Joann Veltri of Brockway, Sarah Stricek of Curwensville and Florence Stricek of Oil City and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Henry, Frances and Stephen Stricek; and her sisters, Mary Jendrisak, Verna Vrabel, Millie Hewitt and Ann Lutz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the St. Timothy Church with the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville when the procession will depart for the church.
The Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. Friday; a Scripture Vigil Service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday, both at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to the St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church.
