Obituary Notice: Anne M. DiGilarmo

Anne M. DiGilarmo, 93, of DuBois went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013 at Christ the King Manor surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 10, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie (Ripe) Quarando. On March 8, 1942, she married Albert J. DiGilarmo.  He preceded her in death on April 14, 1989.

She and her husband were the original owners/operators of Frank’s Pizza in DuBois for 25 years.  During the Second World War, she was one of the original “Rosy Riveters” at Piper Ari Craft in North Tonawanda, NY.

She was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.  She was devoted to her children and grandchildren, as well as to all of the kids in the neighborhood.

She’s survived by three children, Cathy Zielinski and her husband, David of Erie and Dr. Albert J. “Buzz” DiGilarmo and his wife, Michelle “Shelly” of and Robert M. DiGilarmo and his wife, Judith, both of DuBois; a brother, Ralph Quarando of Cleveland, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith A. DiGilarmo and infant son, Nicholas DiGilarmo; her sisters, Melva H. Villella., Mary Dorchak and Adeline Geppert; and her brothers, John, Jeneaua, and Floyd Quarando.

There will be no public visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
