CCAAA: “Sock It To Me” Project Proves Successful

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc. and the Volunteer Center of Clearfield County would like to thank everyone who contributed to its “Sock It To Me” project.

Through the community’s generosity, they collected 2,906 pairs of socks, 144 hats, 28 pairs of mittens and 19 scarves.  Most of these items have already been delivered to the local charities for distribution to those in greatest need and arrangements have been made to deliver the remaining items before Christmas.

Organizations receiving the socks, hats and mittens are Marion House, The Good Samaritan Men’s Shelter, Agape, Life Line, Clearfield Sneaker Closet, West Branch Sneaker Closet, Salvation Army in DuBois and Salvation Army Clearfield.

Several area businesses, churches, schools, civic clubs, senior centers, libraries and individuals helped with the donation and collection of the items.  Their support made this such a successful project, organizers said.

Programs and services of the agency are funded in part by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging, the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging Inc., Mature Resources Foundation and local and consumer contributions.
