In Lawrence Township . . . Johnston Congratulates Replacement
CLEARFIELD – Lawrence Township Supervisors Ed Brown and William Lawhead presented a Certificate of Appreciation to outgoing supervisor Glenn Johnston for his four years of service to the elected position.
At his last meeting for his completed term, Johnston offered congratulations to incoming supervisor Daniel G. Mitchell Sr. (D). Mitchell was elected in November by a 3.5 percent margin.
School Board Updated on Vandalism Incident at Girard-Goshen
CLEARFIELD – At Monday night’s meeting, the Clearfield school board received an update regarding a vandalism incident that occurred at the Girard-Goshen Elementary School in September.
The cost for clean-up and repairs identified in the district’s initial claim totaled $27,872.07. After that it was discovered damage to ceilings, carpeting and a window hadn’t been addressed, said Business Administrator Sam Maney.
CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School District received a clean 2012-13 local audit during Monday night’s combined committee and board meeting.
Katherine B. Eckley, CPA at Walter Hopkins and Company LLP, Clearfield, presented the auditor’s report. She said it was an “unmodified opinion” without any discrepancies.
