Frenchville Couple Waives Hearings in Domestic Assault Case

CLEARFIELD – A Frenchville couple accused in a domestic assault case waived their rights to preliminary hearings during Centralized Court on Wednesday at the Clearfield County Jail.

Noah Iddo Yoder, 34, and Amy Jo Campbell, 36, both of Frenchville, have been charged in the case. Yoder has been charged with simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment. His bail was set at $50,000 monetary but modified to unsecured at his preliminary hearing.

Campbell has been charged with simple assault and harassment. Her bail was set at $10,000 monetary, which she posted Dec. 16, according to online court documents.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, at 5:20 p.m. Dec. 13, the Clearfield-based state police responded to an alleged domestic assault on Dales Drive in Frenchville. Yoder and Campbell had allegedly engaged in a fight over “trust factors” in their relationship, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation.

Campbell told state police that during the alleged assault, Yoder grabbed her and then pushed her through a window, damaging it. She also said he grabbed the phone and took it to the back of their trailer to prevent her from calling 9-1-1.

According to her, Yoder threw her on the bed and put a gun to her head; however, she managed to get it out of his hands. She said while he was on top of her on the bed, she bit him three times in an attempt to get him off of her.

After that, she told state police that she got up and ran down the hallway. She reported that Yoder had ripped the shirt off her back and she had suffered a fat lip. She said she neither put the gun to her head nor possessed it during the alleged assault.

During an interview, Yoder told state police he and Campbell engaged in an argument over “trust factors” in their relationship. He also admitted to throwing a Christmas tree out the window, which he said “set Campbell off.”

According to Yoder, Campbell threw a candle at him; it struck him in the head and cut him wide open. He said while they were fighting in the living room, Campbell bit him on his right arm. Campbell, he said, threw another object at him, which struck him in the face.

Yoder told state police that Campbell went into the bedroom and damaged his children’s Christmas gifts. He said that he wasn’t able to keep her from damaging the gifts. Yoder also claimed that Campbell put the gun to her head and threatened to kill herself. When she did this he didn’t take the threat seriously, saying he knew the gun wasn’t loaded.
