Clearfield Picks Up Six Falls, Beats Central 45-25

MARTINSBURG — The Clearfield Area High School wrestling team bounced back nicely from their heartbreaking loss to BEA last week with a 45-25 win over Central in Mountain League action on Tuesday night.

The Bison picked up six falls and three regular decisions to outscore Central, who did manage three falls among their five wins.

Earning their team-high sixth wins, all by fall, were Noah Cline at 132, Mike Beck at 152, and Travis Ogden at 195. Tallin Norris picked up his first-ever varsity win with a fall at 145, while Thayne Morgan at 106 and Tristan Carruthers at 170 had falls as well.

Jake Verchick got his fifth win, against only one loss, with a decision at 220. At 285, Nate Lash won a high-scoring affair 15-13 in his first ever varsity match.

The Bison (2-1) will travel to Punxsutawney on Thursday night to face their District 9 AAA rival Chucks (1-1).
