The Senate Game & Fisheries Committee advanced legislation to improve Pennsylvania’s elk hunting license program, according to Senator Joe Scarnati (R-25).
Scarnati, a co-sponsor of Senate Bill 1190, explained that the legislation makes important changes to enhance Pennsylvania’s elk program and provide for greater economic development and regional tourism benefits.

Komonczi: Hunting is Big Bucks in PA, Clearfield County
CLEARFIELD – Hunting season is in full swing. Hundreds of thousands of hunters have already taken to the field in search of small game and, of course, white-tailed deer.
“Each year, [the Visit Clearfield County staff] sees pictures of people with their trophies and reads stories about the hunt,” said VCC Executive Director Holly Komonczi. “But we are seldom told what hunting means to the state and how it impacts the millions of people who do not hunt.”

Police Investigate Reported Armed Robbery at Kwik Fill

Upon investigation police found the clerk had gone to the back of the store. When returning to the front, a masked male was behind the counter at the cash register.

Borough Committee Deadlocks on Payment of Police Vehicle Repair Bill
CLEARFIELD – At next week’s meeting, the Clearfield Borough Council will decide on whether to pay the police department’s full repair bill for its Dodge Charger.
The Public Safety Committee couldn’t agree on paying C. Classic Dodge, which resulted in a hung vote on the matter. It received repair costs higher than originally quoted by C. Classic Dodge.

CRC Announces New Main Street Boundaries
CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) has announced its plans to extend its current Main Street boundaries to include key areas within the Clearfield Business District.
These new boundaries will allow the CRC to continue its revitalization efforts and will provide increased economic opportunities to areas, which currently lie outside the Main Street District.
