Forrest C. “Cub” Milligan, of Niagara Falls, NY, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, in Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital, Lewiston, NY following a short illness. Mr. Milligan was formerly of the Wallaceton area.
Born in Wallaceton, Boggs Township on Aug. 27, 1936, he was the son of Forrest E. and Lela E. [Maines] Milligan. Mr. Milligan moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1953 and served with the U.S. Army for four years and the U.S. Army Reserves for three years during the Vietnam War. He was a stationary engineer with the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for 42 years before retiring in 1999.
Mr. Milligan was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, in Niagara Falls, NY. He was also a charter member of the Faith Community Church of the Nazarene (formerly St Paul’s) in Sanborn.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and multiple family events. He will be remembered for his strong faith, sense of humor, storytelling and being the protector of his family. He deeply cared for all that he knew.
Mr. Milligan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandra Lee “Sandy” (Merrifield) Milligan, whom he married Dec. 25, 1956.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lorraine Evans and Rhonda Kolar and her husband, Kenward, both of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Scott Evans and his wife, Reshma, Jeanine Bennett, Andrew Evans and his wife, Christina, USMC Cpl. Jonathan Evans and his wife, Stacy and Kenward Forrest Kolar; eight great-grandchildren, Jordan, Ryan, Amber, Purnell, Chrina, Patricia, Raylee and Nathan; a sister, Bernice Urbanski; and a brother-in-law, Jim Urbanski. He is also survived by three aunts, one uncle, many cousins, nieces, nephews and many others who considered him as Poppy or their Spiritual Father.
Family and friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Monday at the Rhoney Funeral Home, 5893 Hoover Rd., Sanborn, NY. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. with the Rev. C. Wayne Hokanson officiating.
Family and friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc., 16 N. Front St., Clearfield, and again from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Robert Thomas officiating. Burial will be at the Ready Cemetery in Wallaceton.
