With Three Weeks Left, Consumers Fear Ending Up Without Health Coverage

Washington, DC, United States (KaiserHealth) – Tambra Momi has been eagerly awaiting the promise of guaranteed health insurance. Since 2011, she has battled Dercum’s disease, a rare and painful condition in which non-cancerous tumors sprout throughout her body, pressing against nerves. Jobless and in a wheelchair, Momi needs nine different drugs, including one costing $380 a month, to control the pain and side effects. No insurer has been willing to cover her, she says, except a few that have taken her money and then refused to pay for her medications.

CRC Receives $10,000 Contribution

True Value Burglarized in Philipsburg

DECATUR TOWNSHIP – The Philipsburg True Value Store was burglarized sometime between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 8:15 a.m. Sunday in Decatur Township, reported the state police at Clearfield.

In St. Marys, Fire Damages Camco Diversified

ST. MARYS – A fire caused approximately $350,000 worth of damage after igniting at 8:47 p.m. Friday at Camco Diversified in St. Marys, reported the state police at Ridgway.

LT Sewage Customers to See Rate Increase

CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Supervisors approved an increase of sewage rates at last night’s meeting. The rate increase of $2.50 will take effect Jan. 1, changing the current rate of $4 per 1,000 gallons to $6.50 per 1,000 gallons.

Philipsburg Area Residents to Get Free Home Repairs

PHILIPSBURG – As many as 70 local residents may benefit from the work provided by a projected 400 adult and youth volunteers at the Philipsburg Group Workcamp 2014.

CLEARFIELD – A Morrisdale woman accused of waiving a gun around while trying to run lumbermen off a Cooper Township property had all charges bound over to court by Magisterial District Judge Jerome Nevling during Centralized Court on Wednesday at the Clearfield County Jail.
