Man Waives Hearing in Assault Case

CLEARFIELD – A Philipsburg man accused of assault waived his right to a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Jerome Nevling during Centralized Court on Wednesday at the Clearfield County Jail.

Tyler Lee Muchmore, 27, of Philipsburg has been charged with simple assault and harassment. The charges stem from an alleged assault incident that occurred on Nov. 4.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on the date in question, Muchmore arrived home from work and was very upset. He observed a spill in the kitchen and aggressively questioned the victim about why she didn’t clean it up right away.

Muchmore allegedly proceeded to grab her and started hitting her head repeatedly. He allegedly punched her on both arms, which caused visible bruising. During the incident, Muchmore also allegedly repeatedly hit her head off a doorway inside the home.

The victim also told state police that Muchmore threatened to kill her.
