CLEARFIELD – The Animal Welfare Council will help usher in the holiday season in downtown Clearfield on Saturday by participating in the Christmas Parade with their Allegheny Spay and Neuter Clinic animal transport van and several of their animal friends.
During the parade, they will be collecting donations of pet food for needy animals in the area. Parade-goers along the route and the community are invited and encouraged to make donations of cat and dog food to the AWC as they pass by in the parade.
To help many families in the area who struggle to feed their pets, the Animal Welfare Council operates a pet food pantry, where donated pet food is distributed in cooperation with the local food banks.
Recently, the pet food pantry has been used extensively and supplies of pet food are running low. Both cat and dog food are needed and dry food is in greatest demand. There are many animals in the community that need support, and this is a way to help needy animals during this holiday season.
The Animal Welfare Council/pet food pantry and Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic is located at 1380 Shawville Hwy. in Woodland (beside the Woodland Post Office). For more information about this and other opportunities to help local animals this holiday season, please call 814-857-5282.
