Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to a suspicious person along West Front Street. The male was gone prior to police arrival at the scene.
- Police responded to a noise complaint along East Locust Street.
- Police checked on a female along South Third Street and found her to be OK.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with a reported fight at the Sapp Truck Stop.
- Police responded to Turnpike Avenue for a 9-1-1 hang-up call. Everything was found to be OK.
- Police assisted a homeless individual with finding shelter and food.
- Police were dispatched to Spruce Grove Lane for a reckless driving complaint. Upon arrival police determined the roadway was extremely slippery due to ice. The property owner deiced the roadway and Police took no further action.
- Police were dispatched to a loud explosion in the area of East Cherry Street. Upon police arrival, witnesses stated they heard a loud bang and observed a male flee the area. Police checked the area for the suspect; however, they were unable to locate him. The witnesses stated a firework possibly caused the explosion.
- Police received a complaint about harassing phone calls from a known female. Police investigated the phone number she supplied as the suspect’s and it was determined to be a wrong number. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- Police responded to residence on Capricorn Drive for a burglary in progress. Upon arrival police observed a female on the porch. Police determined the female was the ex-girlfriend of the homeowner who wanted to retrieve her personal items. Police informed her that the owner was not at home, and she needed to contact him regarding her things.
- Police responded to a parking lot on East Market Street for a reported hit-and-run accident. A male reported that unknown person(s) hit the front of his vehicle while it was parked and caused damage. The person(s) then fled the area without leaving their insurance information. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
- Police responded to an Arnold Avenue residence for a possible attempted trespassing complaint. Upon arrival police found the suspect was gone. Police checked the area; however, they were unable to locate the suspect.
- Police located an open door on a local business. Police searched the business and did not locate anyone inside. No foul play is suspected.
Lawrence Township
- Police responded to a structure fire in the High Street area.
- Police received a report about a traffic violation on state Route 879.
- Police received a wallet that had been dropped at the Rainbow Car Wash. The owner has been contacted by police.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Friday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to contact police.
- Police received a report about horses that were on the roadway in the area of Paradise School Road and the Rockton Mountain Highway. Upon arrival police found the caretaker who advised the horses hadn’t escaped.
- Police received a report about an incident of disorderly conduct and traffic violations that occurred in the Wal-Mart Supercenter parking lot. Upon arrival police handled the incident at the scene.
- Police received a report about civil property issues in the Hyde area. Further, police referred the individual to the appropriate agencies.
- Police received a traffic complaint during which a motorist was driving without a license.
- Police received a report about an abandoned vehicle in the Glen Richey area. Further, police are attempting to contact the owner of the vehicle.
- Police responded to a two-vehicle accident on SR 879.
- Police responded to a fight at the Sapp Bros. Truck Stop. Upon arrival police encountered one of the individuals who had been involved in the fight.
- Police responded to a domestic dispute and handled the incident at the scene.
- Police received a report about suspicious persons at Rite Aid. Upon arrival police determined they were waiting for Western Union.
- Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on River Road. Further, a pedestrian was struck by the side mirror of a passing pick-up truck. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
- Police assisted a motorist with a disabled vehicle on Flegal Road.
- Police responded to a false alarm at Bloom Electric.
- Police were requested to assist a motorist at the Best Western. Further, police found the motorist had struck a deer while traveling on Interstate 80 and referred the report to the state police.
State police at DuBois
- The investigation is continuing into an incident of reckless endangering that occurred Saturday on the Reynoldsville/Falls Creek Road in Winslow Township. During the incident, someone fired a bullet that entered the victim’s residence through the kitchen wall area. Preliminary investigation has indicated that the round struck the residence by accident. There wasn’t any evidence at the scene to indicate otherwise, state police said.
- No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident Thursday on Coal Hill Road in Brady Township. Debra A. Thomas, 67, of Grampian was traveling southbound near Wells Road when a deer entered the roadway from the right side. Thomas’ vehicle subsequently struck the deer, and her vehicle came to a rest in the southbound lane. Her vehicle’s accident immobilization system was immediately activated upon its impact with the deer. Thomas’ vehicle was towed from the scene.
- No injuries were reported after a single-vehicle accident Nov. 26 on the DuBois-Rockton Road in Union Township. David M. Kelege, 30, of DuBois was traveling eastbound in the right-hand lane when he lost control of his vehicle due to traveling too fast on the slushy roadway. His vehicle slid in a clockwise direction and crossed the westbound lane. After that, his vehicle traveled 100 feet along the north berm before the driver’s side front fender struck a large pine tree. State police were assisted at the scene by the Rockton Volunteer Fire Department.
- A single-vehicle accident occurred Friday on U.S. Route 322 in Winslow Township. Further, a 39-year-old Reynoldsville man was traveling westbound when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed. He fled the scene on foot, and charges are currently pending against him. He had a passenger, a 38-year-old Reynoldsville man. State police were assisted at the scene by the Reynoldsville Volunteer Fire Department and Reynoldsville Ambulance.
State police at Philipsburg
- No injuries were reported after a two-vehicle accident Nov. 24 at the intersection of Fourth and Presqueisle streets in Philipsburg Borough. Tonya R. Thompson, 50, of Philipsburg was traveling eastbound on Presqueisle Street when a small green truck stopped at the intersection with Fourth Street. The operator of the truck failed to yield at the stop sign and pulled in front of the Thompson vehicle. Thompson subsequently swerved to avoid striking the truck and came to rest in the opposite lane on Presqueisle Street. At that time, Nathan M. Lesko, 25, of Osceola was traveling westbound and stopped broadside before striking the Thompson vehicle in the four-o-clock position.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of simple assault/harassment occurred Thursday on Worrel Street in Jones Township. During the incident, a 30-year-old Wilcox woman and a 12-year-old boy engaged in a verbal argument, which escalated into a physical domestic dispute.
- A DUI/Act 64 incident occurred Sunday on state Route 948 near Sheeley Road in Fox Township. During the incident, a Brockway man was stopped for a traffic violation and determined to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance. He was subsequently arrested on charges of DUI and summary traffic violations pending blood test results.
- An incident of retail theft occurred Sunday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Fox Township. During the incident, an 18-year-old St. Marys woman removed several items of merchandise without paying for them.
- An incident of theft occurred sometime between Nov. 24 and Sunday on the Quehanna Highway in Fox Township. During the incident, a suspect(s) removed approximately 45 gallons of home heating fuel oil from an outside 275-gallon tank at the victim’s camp.
