STATE COLLEGE – Gregg Township and PennDOT announce the completion of a local Centre County bridge replacement on Township Road 468 (Ross Hill Road).
Traffic has been using the bridge since. Oct. 1 but guiderail work was not complete until late October. PennDOT performed the final inspection early this month, marking the official end of the project.
Work to replace the bridge across Penns Creek began in late May, with the project finishing a few weeks ahead of schedule. Replacing the local bridge removes it from the list of structurally deficient bridges in Centre County.
Work included replacement of the old bridge with a pre-cast concrete box culvert, approach work, paving, drainage improvements, and guide rail updates. Nestlerode Contracting Co. Inc. of Lock Haven was the contractor on this $596,000 job.
Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.
