Betty Lou Hanes, 67, of Clearfield died Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jerry Dale Hanes Sr. whom died Feb. 3, 2005.
She was born April 27, 1946, in Clearfield, the daughter of the late James Daniel and Wanda Virginia (Brown) Quinn.
She was a member of the Hyde Baptist Church. She was a past member of the F.O.E. Ladies Auxiliary, Clearfield and the Clearfield VFW.
She had worked at Kurtz Bros., Clearfield Cheese Factory and Kents Sportswear. She enjoyed playing bingo, ceramics and crocheting.
She’s survived by four sons, Jerry Dale Hanes Jr. of Grampian; Greg A. Hanes and his wife, Jeannine L. of Clearfield, Michael S. Hanes and his wife, Kristen of Curwensville and Scott A. Hanes and his wife, Amanda of Carlisle; a step-son, Randy J. Hanes of West Decatur; seven grandchildren, Erica M. Hanes, Emily R. Hanes, Morgan D. Hanes, Trenten S. Hanes, Sierra S. Hanes, Kilee R. Hanes and Jordan M. Hanes; and a sister: Dorothy Jean Wisor of Clearfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband and five brothers, Edward James, John Nolan, James Richard, Patrick Gene and Barry Duane “Bud” Quinn.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with Pastor Sallie Swenson officiating. Burial will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Monday at the funeral home.
