Luke L. Maines, 77, of Curwensville died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 10, 1936 in Clearfield, the son of William and Hannah (Jones) Maines.
Mr. Maines was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War and three tours during Vietnam before retiring in 1975. He then worked for the Clearfield Hospital in the housekeeping department and D.C. Guelich.
He was a member of the Clearfield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1785 and the Curwensville American Legion.
Mr. Maines was Protestant by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannette M. (Lingle) Maines, whom he married Nov. 2, 1957; a daughter, Hannah M. Ross and her husband, Jamie of Marron; two grandchildren, Charlotte M. Wright and Eric K. Ross; and two sisters, Martha Lilly of Curwensville and Irene Maines of Clearfield.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with the Rev. M. Bruce Dimmick officiating.
Burial will be in the Bloomington Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday at the funeral home.
