CAUW Hits 76 Percent of Annual Campaign Goal

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area United Way held its second campaign report luncheon this week at the St. Charles Cafe Dining Room.

CAUW volunteers announced $29,176 in new donations. This brings the CAUW total to $185,260.28, or 76 percent, of the $245,500 campaign goal for 2013-14. These monies will benefit 25 local   member agencies throughout eastern, southern and central Clearfield County.

“We have found it challenging this year and hope that people who have never given to the United Way before will look at all of the agencies that we help day-in, day-out. We have ones that reach infants to the elderly,” said Campaign Chairperson Michele Fannin.

Donations are tax deductible and can be sent to the Clearfield Area United Way, 18 N. Second St., P.O. Box 1430, Clearfield, PA 16830. The United Way has been around for 125 years nationally after being founded in Chicago. The CAUW has been in existence for more than 75 years.

“We appreciate all giving and hope that there are those generous folks out there who will help us reach the top of the Goal Thermometer in the Courthouse Square,” said Board President Ranea Brewer.

The CAUW also has a Legacy Giving Program within its Named Fund for donors who want to ensure the United Way is helping people for the next 75 years. For more information about this and other United Way programs, please visit clearfieldareaunitedway.org.
