Port Matilda Woman Killed in Worth Twp. Accident

WORTH TOWNSHIP – A 79-year-old Port Matilda woman, Dolores P. Weaver, was killed in a two-vehicle accident Tuesday on South Eagle Valley Road in Worth Township, reported the state police at Philipsburg today.

Weaver was attempting a left-hand turn from the Port Matilda Sportsmen’s Club near Bradford Drive. Her vehicle entered in front of a tractor-trailer driven by Michael A. Mock, 40, of Home, which was traveling north on South Eagle Valley Road.

Mock’s tractor-trailer struck the driver’s side of the Weaver vehicle. Her vehicle was then pushed off the west berm of the roadway. Weaver was pronounced dead at the scene; she wasn’t wearing a seatbelt. Mock wasn’t injured and was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

State police were assisted at the scene by the Port Matilda Fire Department and Fire Police, Port Matilda Emergency Medical Services and towing services.
