- Police responded to multiple vehicle accidents Tuesday on the Sandy Bridge on South Brady Street. Upon arrival police noticed the top of the bridge was a sheet of ice in both directions. With assistance from Sandy Township officers, police closed the bridge, as the state Department of Transportation couldn’t respond due to winter conditions on Interstate 80. Further, a Sandy Township road crew arrived and salted the bridge, which was re-opened when deemed safe to travel on. Police would like to remind motorists to be cautious due to colder weather and icy roadway conditions.
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Tuesday in the parking lot of the DuBois Regional Medical Center – West on Hospital Avenue. The victim told police that someone struck her vehicle, while it was parked at the hospital. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Tuesday in the 300 block of West Long Avenue. The victim told police that someone struck his truck and caused damaged to its rear bed panel. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
- A two-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday on Beaver Drive. No injuries were reported, and one vehicle was towed from the scene.
- On Tuesday, police responded to a business in the 300 block of West DuBois Avenue, where an unknown male was refusing to leave. Upon arrival police found the male had left; police then searched the area but couldn’t locate him.
