Detroit Men Jailed for Possessing Drugs in Patton Twp.

PATTON TOWNSHIP – Two Detroit, MI men have been incarcerated at the Centre County Correctional Facility after being found in possession of drugs Monday on Interstate 99 at mile-marker 71 in Patton Township, reported the state police at Philipsburg.

Kevin Giles, 47, and Christian Parnell, 25, both of Detroit, MI, were initially found with a small amount of marijuana after being stopped for traffic violations. The marijuana, state police said, was in plain view in the center console.

Upon searching the vehicle, state police found an additional half-pound of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. In addition, Parnell was in possession of a loaded Glock pistol for which he didn’t have a permit.

Both Giles and Parnell remain incarcerated in lieu of $10,000 bail.
