Oliver Marmol, who led the Spikes to the most successful season in franchise history in 2013, will return as the team’s manager next season. Also returning to the Spikes’ bench in 2014 will be pitching coach Dernier Orozco, hitting coach Ramon Ortiz and head athletic trainer Dan Martin. Led by the 27-year old Marmol, the 2013 Spikes posted the New York-Penn League’s top regular season record, reached the playoffs for the first time in club history by winning the Pinkney Division crown, and came within one run of winning the league title after reaching the NYPL Championship Series.
