A liquid tar spilled onto the roadway Friday at the intersection of East Presqueisle and Centre streets in Philipsburg Borough. John Klancher, 65, (no hometown provided) pulled from the intersection when a filter door on top of his tanker trailer opened and caused the said substance to spill onto the roadway. The Reliance Fire Department and the state Department of Transportation assisted at the scene. Anyone with information or damage to their vehicle is asked to call the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
