Carolyn M. Carfagno, 71, of Treasure Lake and formerly of Clearfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center. She was born March 30, 1942, the daughter of Melvin Benjamin and Madeline Matilda (Boyle) Mann.
She was a graduate of A.D. Eisenhower High School, Norristown and of the Sacred Heart Hospital School of Practical Nursing. She worked as a licensed practical nurse for the Norristown State Hospital.
She was a Protestant by faith.
She’s survived by a daughter, Rebecca A. Ashton of Eddystone and a son, James R. Carfagno and two grandchildren, Thomas J. “TJ” Ashton of Eddystone and Carolyn E. Mills and her husband, Robert Sr. of Treasure Lake.
Also surviving are a great-grandson, Robert E. Mills Jr. and two sisters, Margaret J. “Peggy” Mathias, of Pottstown and Rebecca L. “Becky” Montowski of Treasure Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Melvin B. “Benny” Mann Jr.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. John F. White officiating. Burial will be in Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family suggest contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
