CLEARFIELD – Santa Claus will come to town in a few weeks for the Clearfield YMCA Christmas Parade. The parade was formerly hosted by the Clearfield Elks.
The YMCA will carry on this Christmas tradition for area children on Dec. 7. The parade will get under way at 12 p.m. The YMCA invites any and all organizations to take part in this long-standing and traditional Christmas parade.
Line-up will be on North Third Street between Reed and Locust streets. The parade steps off at 12 p.m. on the corner of Third and Locust streets in downtown Clearfield.
Participants will proceed on North Third Street, turn right onto Market Street, turn right onto North Second Street and then turn right onto Locust Street. The parade will conclude at the starting line.
This year’s parade theme is “Toyland.” Each parade entry is asked to be creatively decorated with the theme. There isn’t any entry fee to participate, but organizations are asked to register beforehand so a line-up can be organized.
Santa will be arriving to Clearfield via a fire truck. After the parade, all children and parents are invited to join Santa and Mrs. Claus inside the YMCA gym. Free hot chocolate, cookies and photo opportunities with Santa will be a part of the fun.
If you are interested in participating, please complete a registration form available at the YMCA. You can contact Don Herres at 814-765-5521 for more information; your participation is encouraged and welcomed.
