DUBOIS – Sandy Township officials will meet with those from the Federal and Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agencies about the flood event that occurred in June, announced Sandy Township Manager Dick Castonguay at Monday’s meeting.

Public assistance applicants participated in a briefing Oct. 28; the briefing involved officials from several communities, said Castonguay. He noted that the meeting with federal and state officials Wednesday will be specifically for Sandy Township.

In preparation on Monday, the supervisors approved Resolution 19-2013, a Designation of Agent Resolution/Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act. Supervisor Brady LaBorde was not present at the meeting.

“We’ll have to visit every site, get pictures and GPS.  We’ll have to do it all again,” said Castonguay. He said that the data gathered will go toward filing for reimbursement for flood recovery.

In other business, Castonguay stressed the importance of voting today. “We urge everyone to get out and exercise their right to vote,” he said.

The Dec. 2 supervisors meeting was canceled due to hunting season.  It will be re-scheduled if a matter arises that must be addressed before the Dec. 16 meeting.
