‘Blinker Parkway’ Work Continues

DUBOIS – Work to improve the Route 119/322 “Blinker Parkway” intersection in Sandy Township is winding down for this year, with an update noted below. Work is now expected to complete in spring of 2014. When work is finished, area drivers will be able to travel through a wider intersection with improved visibility and enhanced safety.

For the week of Nov. 4, area drivers can expect:

The new traffic signals will be implemented sometime during November and they will control existing traffic conditions. Once the new signals are operational, the temporary signals will be removed. Final paving will not be completed this year but will take place in spring 2014, as soon as weather temperatures allow.

Overall work has included construction of turning lanes, roadway widening, slight roadway re-alignment, drainage improvements, new curbing and sidewalk, curb ramps, and traffic signal upgrades.

All work is weather and schedule dependent. Work is scheduled to end by early December of this year. H.R.I. Inc. of State College is the contractor on this $1.3 million project.

PennDOT reminds drivers to be cautious, watch for slow moving and stopped vehicles through the work zone, obey posted speed limits, and always buckle up.
