Obituary Notice: William L. “Bill” Waring

William L. “Bill” Waring, 68, of Curwensville and formerly of Clearfield, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Oct. 31, 2013 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center, DuBois.

Born Sept. 2, 1945, he was the son of the late George Allen Waring and Ethel Waring.   He was wed to Carolyn (McDonald) Waring, who survives him at home.

He loved his family, hunting, fishing, woodworking, the outdoors and all brothers of the Knepp Camp.  He was a lifetime member of the Second Ward Hose Company.

He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Clearfield. He also attended the Hepburnia United Methodist Church in Grampian.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, William L. Waring Jr., Evette Shaw and her husband, Timothy and Angel Scribe and her husband, Sam, all of Curwensville; eight grandchildren, Ashlee Standifer, Joshua Shaw, Curtis Shaw, Kyle Scribe, Garrett Shaw, Hanna Shaw, Damian Bennett of Williamsport and Jackson Scribe; and  two great-grandchildren, Riley Standifer and Grace Shaw.

Mr. Waring is also survived by two brothers, George Waring and Charles Waring and his wife, Laureen; two sisters, Elisabeth Waring and Ginger Swanson; and 15 nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Emily McKee and Dorothy DuFour.

A memorial service will be held from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. Monday at the Hepburnia United Methodist Church in Grampian.
