Donald L. Jarrett, 77 a guest of Mountain Laurel Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield, and formerly of Houtzdale died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013 at the center.
Born June 25, 1936 in Sanborn, rural Houtzdale, he was the son Raymond E. and Edna R (Richner) Jarrett. He was employed as a mechanic for Stocker Chevrolet, State College, until a disability forced his retirement.
He’s survived by his former wife, Lyla Jarrett of Philipsburg; a son Scott Jarrett and his wife, Melanie of Houtzdale; two daughters, Wendy Bainey and her husband, George of Philipsburg and Georgieann Oshell of Clearfield; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Ira Jarrett and his wife, Rose and Larry Jarrett and his wife, Shirley of Houtzdale; an aunt, Florence DuFour of Houtzdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Heather Bainey.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Robert Ford officiating. Burial will be in the Sanborn Cemetery.
