Public Invited to Attend Elder Justice Day

CLEARFIELD – The public is invited to attend “A Time for Justice: Combating Elder Abuse in Clearfield County.”

This informative seminar will educate, protect and prevent Clearfield County older adults and those with disabilities from abuse and exploitation. It will be held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Nov. 12 at Lock Haven University, Clearfield campus.

By joining with experts from across the state and local leaders, the seminar will bring abuse out of the shadows into a position where it can be stopped and prevented. Speakers include: William A. Shaw Jr., Clearfield County District Attorney; George Weidlein, vice president/Trust & Investment Management; John Ryan, Esq.; Dr. Ronald Costen, director of Pennsylvania Institute on Protective Services at Temple University; Denise Getgen, state Department of Aging; Renee Martin of the Attorney General’s Office; and Bill Armstrong, representative from the office of State Rep. Thomas R Sankey.

The seminar is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited.  Lunch will be provided.  Please RSVP to 814-765-2696 by Nov. 7.
