- Sometime Saturday or Sunday, someone took the victim’s dog while it was tied up outside on Hampton Street in Philipsburg Borough. The dog is a 15-year-old female Collie/Shepard mix. It had long blonde hair with a graying face and weighed approximately 60 pounds. The dog’s name is Misty, and she was wearing a blue color. Anyone with information about the dog is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
- On Oct 24., a hit-and-run accident occurred on Hannah Lane in Taylor Township. Further, the operator of a vehicle was traveling east and after negotiating a right-hand curve, they lost control of the vehicle. It traveled off the roadway and onto the south berm, where it struck a fence and knocked it down. The vehicle continued traveling approximately 150 feet into a field before coming to a stop. The operator backed out of the field and fled the scene without notifying the property owner of the damage. - An incident of harassment occurred Sunday at the AMVets in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, four people engaged in a physical altercation. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- An accident occurred Saturday in the area of East Presqueisle and Hillcrest streets in Philipsburg Borough. Further, a 55-year-old woman was traveling westbound and lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a left-hand curve, which caused her right front wheel to strike a curb. Her vehicle crossed both lanes of travel before striking an embankment on the left berm of the roadway. The woman’s vehicle was towed from the scene, and she didn’t sustain any injuries as a result of the accident. The woman was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for blood/alcohol testing. Charges for DUI will be filed through the district court pending blood test results.
