The Clearfield Borough Police Department recently participated in Operation Safe Stop. The enforcement and awareness event is held yearly during National School Bus Safety Week, which runs through Friday.

During the detail, police officers look for motorists who violate Pennsylvania’s School Bus Stopping Law. Those convicted violating the law could face a $250 fine, five points on their driving record and a 60-day license suspension.

According to PennDOT data, Clearfield County saw 22 accidents involving school buses in the past five years. To learn more about the law, visit www.JustDrivePA.com.
