MVCEF Holds Walk/Run

RAMEY – On Sept. 28, the Moshannon Valley Community Education Foundation hosted a 5K/10K Walk/Run.  The race was held at Palcher Park, Ramey, and continued onto Rails to Trails toward Smoke Run.

Kicking off the race were distinguished guests, Larry and Mary Cusick.  After the race, the official announcement was held for the “Class of 2014 Lance John Cusick Memorial Service Scholarship.”  Lance would’ve been a member of the class of 2014 but passed away unexpectedly when he was in the first grade.

Members of the class were invited to the official announcement, which would have been Lance’s 18th birthday.  The Cusick family has been involved with events of the foundation since its beginning. Announcing the scholarship was Laura Mihalko, who was Lance’s Kindergarten teacher, the Cusick family, Nicole Thompson (Lance’s sister), Tyler Wilkinson (Lance’s brother) and Jim and Barb Orichosky (Lance’s aunt and uncle).

Monies from the KVR fund faculty grants, which enhance the educational experience of the students of the Moshannon Valley School District.
