Linda Darnell Gormont, 67, of Clearfield died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at her residence. She was the wife of 51 years to Robert L. Gormont Sr. of Clearfield, whom she married March 3, 1962.
Born March 1, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Beatrice (Maines) McClincy.
Mrs. Gormont was a member of the St. Francis Roman Catholic Church, Clearfield. She was a homemaker and took great pride in raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was employed as a cake decorator at the former Riverside Market, Clearfield, and later with The Progress. She also enjoyed bowling as part of a league in Clearfield.
In addition to her husband, surviving are two sons and a daughter, Terry A. Gormont and his wife, Lisa, Timothy L. Gormont and his wife, Cecelia and Michelle N. Canter and her husband, Chuck and a daughter-in-law, Ricki Gormont, all of Clearfield; 10 grandchildren, Emily and Benjamin Gormont, Jonathan Gormont, Cassandra Miller, Timothy Gormont Jr., Kaitlin, Julie and Tyler Canter, Erin and Robert Gormont; one great grandchild, Carter Gormont; and one brother and two sisters, Kevin McClincy of Greensburg; Colleen Anderson of Clearfield; Sharon McClincy of Montana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert L. Gormont Jr.; a brother, Donald McClincy; and granddaughter, Abigail Gormont.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Linda Darnell Gormont will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., 312 E. Locust St., Clearfield, with Msgr. H. Desmond McGee as celebrant.
A time to share memories and have an opportunity to view will be held from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield.
