No Tax Increase in Sandy Twp. Budget

DUBOIS – Sandy Township released its tentative 2014 budget to the public at its regular meeting Monday night.

Further, the township’s budget doesn’t include any property tax increase. It will be finalized by the supervisors in December.  The water rate is expected to increase by 75 cents per 1,000 gallons.

According to Township Manager Dick Castonguay, the water rate increase is due to the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approving DuBois City’s increase in water rates for non-city customers.  Sandy Township purchases its water from the city.

The budget breaks down as follows:

The total millage will remain at 15 mills.
