Obituary Notice: Rita M. Wray

Rita M. Wray, 66, of DuBois died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013 at her residence.

Born May 20, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Lavelet and Rita L. (Peplow) Mould.

On Oct. 25, 1985, she married Robert M. Wray.  He survives.

She was a graduate of Bethel Park High School.  She then graduated from William Penn University in Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education, Clarion University with a Master’s degree in education and the Pennsylvania State University with a degree in elementary administration.

She was the principal of the DuBois Central Catholic Elementary School.  Prior to that, she was an elementary school teacher and principal in the DuBois Area School District for 32 years.

She was also previously employed as the Clarion University Supervisor of State Teachers, was the assistant manager of Lori’s Hospital Gift Shop at the DuBois Regional Medical Center and was the former owner of the Apple for the Teacher Store in DuBois. She was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, and was also a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association. She was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan.

She is survived by a brother, Robert Mould and (Nancy) of DuBois; a sister-in-law, Janice Champion and her husband, David of Slippery Rock; a niece, Laura Wissinger of Indiana; a nephew, Kevin Wissinger and his wife, Lisa of Plum; and numerous cousins.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery.
