Obituary Notice: Joseph S. Lesky

Joseph S. Lesky, 90, of DuBois died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2013 at the Ridgeview Elder Care in Curwensville.

Born Nov. 18, 1922 in Helvetia, he was the son of the late Bernard Lesky Sr. and Victoria (Kulbatsky) Lesky.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and served as a signalman.

On Aug. 19, 1950, he married Ann Marie “Mae” (Zbieg) Lesky.  She survives.

He retired from Rockwell International Manufacturing in DuBois after 42 years of service.  Prior to that, he worked at Jackson China Co. and the BMB Bakery.  In his retirement, he drove cars for several area car dealerships.

He was a lifetime resident of DuBois.  He was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.  He managed the Rockwell Little League for 17 years.

He made grandfather clocks for many years.  He was a member of the Pulaski Club, the former Lithuanian Club and the James J. Patterson Post 813 Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his two daughters, Linda Rosselli and Mrs. Richard (Cheryl) Johnson, both of DuBois; three sisters, Stella Freemer of Brockway, Mary Ivoska of DuBois and Helen Betts of Harbor Creek; and four grandchildren, Shawn Lesky, Michelle Johnson, Alyssa Rosselli and Jeremy Johnson.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Victor Lesky, Bernard Lesky Jr., and Edward Lesky and one sister, Jenny Kosko.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A military ritual service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Friday at the funeral home by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
