Fire Marshal Investigates Two Truck-tractor Fires

RIDGWAY – The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Crystal Fire Department investigated two truck-tractor fires that occurred in St. Marys, according to the state police at Ridgway.

The first fire occurred at 11:51 a.m. Sunday at DeLullo Trucking Co. located at 1022 Delaum Rd. The fire destroyed a 2006 Peterbilt truck-tractor, which was parked at the time. The investigation revealed that the fire was caused by an electrical short in the engine compartment.

The second fire occurred at 8:48 a.m. Monday at W&W Sons Contractors Inc. located on Stackpole Street. The fire damaged a 1996 Peterbuilt truck-tractor, which was parked at the time. The operator extinguished the fire that was caused by an electrical short along the frame of the vehicle.

No injuries occurred as a result of the fires. The first fire caused an estimated $50,000 worth of damage. However, the second fire caused only minimal damage, state police said.
