Rachel J. Kelley, 76, of Philipsburg died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 at her residence. Born Jan. 20, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Samuel T. and Jane E. (Twist) Kelley.
She is survived by her children, James L. Ferguson Jr. and David A. Ferguson and his wife, Jamie, both of Philipsburg, Mary Jane Burke and her husband, Chuck of White Oak, Barry T. Ferguson and his wife, Alice of Somerset, Ruthann Barnes of Sheldon, Iowa, Lisa A. Harris of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael R. Ferguson and his wife Iris of South Park and Paul L. Ferguson and his wife Rejeana of Milwaukee, WI; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her generation. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel C. Kelley.
She was a 1954 graduate of Philipsburg High School. She was affiliated with the Philipsburg Christian Missionary & Alliance Church.
Throughout her life, she worked as a waitress at the Ramsdale and Little Restaurant and had also worked at Navaskys. She enjoyed going to bingo, crocheting and reading.
A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St., Philipsburg, with her son Barry T. Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
