Martha F. ‘Marty’ Clarke, 65, of Clearfield died Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 at her home.
She was born March 9, 1948, a daughter of the late Jacob, Jr. and Anne (Brubaker) Frantz.
She retired from teaching elementary school in the Clearfield Area School District after 35.5 years of service.
She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield, where she sang in the Senior Church Choir, Psalm 151 and was active with the bell choir. Music was a life-long interest of hers, as she was involved in band and chorus during her high school years and sang with the Clearfield Choral Society for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory A. Clarke, whom she wed Aug. 12, 1971 in Clearfield; three children, Joshua Paul Clarke of Pittsburgh, Christopher Joseph Clarke of Orlando, Fla. and Rachel Elizabeth Clarke of Clearfield; a grandson, Azaiah; and a brother, Jacob Paul Frantz III and his wife, Georgina of Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. John Lutheran Church, Clearfield, with Pastor Robert J. Way officiating.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield and from 9 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the church.
